A photograph becomes a painting in the artist’s hand
Loved ones, a family moment, your pet or a landscape you never want to forget: the photo you send is the artist’s starting point. The work is not a copy of the photo but the artist’s interpretation; light, colour and composition are rebuilt on canvas.
The artist reviews the photo, asks for another angle or more photos if needed, and agrees the composition with you. A single composition can also be built from several photos.
A good reference photo
- Taken in daylight or a well-lit space.
- Faces and details are sharp — not blurry or very small.
- Send the original, uncompressed file if you can.
- For several people or pets, add photos where each is clearly visible.

How is the price of a commissioned painting set?
Size, medium (oil or acrylic) and level of detail. The calculator above shows an estimated range for your choices; the final price is agreed with you once the artist has reviewed your request.
Can I have an oil portrait painted from a photo?
Yes. A well-lit photo where the face is clearly visible works best. The artist reviews the photo and may ask for more. A single composition can also be built from several photos.
Can I send an image I created with AI?
Of course. An AI-generated image is a good starting point for composition and colour. Our artist does not copy it; the work is reinterpreted by hand on canvas. Inconsistent details common in such images — hands, lettering, light that could not exist — are given a natural form in the painting. For portraits, please add a real photograph alongside it so the likeness is true to you.
Should I choose oil or acrylic?
Oil dries slowly and is often chosen for classic portraits with soft transitions and deep tones. Acrylic dries quickly with vivid, crisp colour and suits modern, colourful compositions. Not sure? Say so in your request and the artist will suggest one for your subject.
How long does it take?
The estimated lead time is 21 days. It can vary with size, detail and medium; the exact timing is shared with you at approval.
How does payment work?
Once composition, timing and price are agreed, work starts with a 30% deposit. No payment or work starts without your approval.
How will the painting reach me?
The work is carefully packed for art transport and shipped to your address. Shipping details can be followed on your order tracking page and messages.
